writers theatre
Born from the back of a small bookshop in Glencoe, this cultural icon and theatrical masterpiece goes beyond its grand theatre, weaving natural settings and intimate spaces throughout. Lighting this building, nestled in the woods and tucked into the neighborhood, presented a unique challenge. The goal was to let the theatre shine while allowing the structure to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, serving as a beacon for the community without overpowering the natural beauty.
Luminaires were carefully detailed and discreetly integrated into the architecture, thanks to the close collaboration with the Studio Gang team. Lighting was designed not only to illuminate the spaces but to enhance the theater’s atmosphere and surroundings, ensuring each element worked in harmony. The result is a space that feels both connected to its natural environment and illuminated with purpose, allowing the building to radiate without overshadowing its surroundings.
